Bible Study Is Important

My friends, I want to encourage you, while reading or studying the scriptures to seek out meanings behind what is written. There are several ways to do this, probably one of the easiest is biblestudytools.com
There are dictionaries, concordances and different translations. As well as some historical writings that help you get an idea of what was happening in and around the author during the time the words were written.

A few weeks ago I was reading in Romans 10 and came upon this verse in the Passion Translation: Romans 10:11 "For the Scriptures encourage us with these words: 'Everyone who believes in him will never be disappointed.'" In the margins Isaiah 28:16 was referenced..."Therefore thus says the Lord God, 'Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.'"

Because there is not an Old Testament Passion Translation yet, I referenced the New American Standard Bible (NASB, which is my go to for good meaning). The word "disturbed" stood out to me. From there I looked in several different translations; Amplified, New International Version, English Standard Version, to see how Isaiah was written in each of those as well. In the footnotes it references Romans 9:33, which uses the word disappointed.

I will not be disappointed in believing in Christ!!! Paul tells us that believing in Christ, even though many will and do reject Him, we will not be disappointed! We do not have to be ashamed. We should and can have confidence in believing in Him. He will always go above and behond for us>>> He is all powerful (Omnipotent), always present (Omnipresent), all knowing (Omniscient), and he goes before us (Providential). The confidence that comes from trusting Him builds our faith with each step we take in our walk with Him. He desires us to trust Him with every part of our lives; our spouses, our children, our extended family and our friends (those that stick closer than a brother).

You will not be disappointed in believing in Christ!!!
